AMD has just announced that FreeSync support via HDMI will be present in the first quarter of 2016. That means, the technology refresh rate vary belongs to AMD it could be used on consumer hardware and much more.

Since its launch a year ago, one of the excellence of FreeSync compared to the NVIDIA G-Sync is not to increase the cost of products monitor is too high. Unlike the G-Sync, FreeSync doesn't need modules particular because using Adaptive-Sync belongs to the VESA DisplayPort standard – part of 1.2 a.

The efforts of NVIDIA medesain LCD scaler module as part of custom G-Sync means better control of the entire data stream of DisplayPort. So the general assumption that circulates the G-Sync solution is more good but expensive. G-Sync not much experience movement broken when frame rate is below a minimum refresh rate of the monitor. G-Sync also did not easy to experience the effects of ghosting.

However, AMD has been working to develop FreeSync. The most significant updates are present last month when AMD presents the Crimson drivers enable a feature called Low Framerate Compensation (LFC) for FreeSync monitors in order to overcome the constraints of drawing the third broken frame rate is below the minimum refresh rate of the monitor.

Support via HDMI that recently announced other steps so that FreeSync is able to compete with G-Sync is only available via DisplayPort. AMD stated has been collaborating with partners such as LG, Samsung, and Acer to offer screen monitor compatible with FreeSync via HDMI.

According to AMD, 70% of mainstream monitor does not currently have a DisplayPort connector, so the HDMI support for such technologies could mean FreeSync available cheaper (no longer need to buy a monitor with DisplayPort connector) and reach a broader consumer.

The entire graphics card Radeon comes with HDMI 1.2 and above can support FreeSync via HDMI after doing the update drivers. The HDMI specification allows additional features so that AMD can implement FreeSync via HDMI. AMD also ensures the entire upcoming Radeon graphics card will support this new feature.
